(excerpt from my first letter to my family.)
August 26, 2010
My first few days at the MTC were a little overwhelming. We saw some visitor reenactments and it made me realize how much I know about applying and communicating what I am learning. I know the Lord wants me here, but I still miss my family. I got sick from the food and spent most of the day in the health clinic sleeping off the anti-nausea shots. I received a blessing from the Elders in my district which helped a lot and I am now feeling much better. My companion Sister Brown is amazing, very calm and honest. She has been waiting for this opportunity for a long time and is an amazing example of diligence. The Branch President and Bishopric are wonderful! The wives are so kind and sassy! I just am taking it all a day at a time (really like a minute). I am being well taken care of. I wish I could share just how hard, challenging, and worthwhile it all is. I can't wait to get letters! I can only write on my P-days from now on, but I am really busy with every hour scheduled so I wouldn't find much time to write anyway. If you could send me love! Which I know you do in your prayers.
